The 3 Graces


This is the final book cover for a series. The figures are based on mythology. While painting my version I looked at the mural painting of them from Pompeii.

I didn't think any black and white images would appeal to me because such an important part of your work is the color, the glazes, etc. Well, things change, and I am really drawn to this piece despite the loss of color - I think it is the fluidity of the forms and lines that makes up for the loss. Nice, really nice!
